The Soups That Magically Make You Lose Weight

Weight loss is surely a task that requires complete care and motivation and there isn’t any rocket science involved. If you eat healthy and workout a little you can lose all the extra pounds you have been gaining since all those years. But the most frequent question which is being asked by many people is, how to keep that weight off? These soup diet recipes don’t require any starvation or extreme workouts; it just contains some natural ingredients and that’s it. You can prepare a large bowl of soup on weekends and use it for the whole week.

1. Kelly’s Butternut Squash Soup

Ingredients:

  • Extra virgin olive oil: 2 tbsps.
  • Medium sized onion: 1 (chopped)
  • Garlic cloves: 2 (minced)
  • Butternut squash: 1 (large, peeled, seeded and cut in cubes)
  • Carrots: 2 (medium, chopped)
  • Potato: 1 (medium, cut in cubes)
  • Vegetable broth: 4 full cups
  • Coconut Milk: 1 cup
  • Salt n pepper for taste

Directions:

Pour oil in a large pot and heat on low-medium heat, add garlic and onion and sauté for 4-5 minutes until tender.

Now add potato, carrot, squash cubes and broth and let the mixture cook for about half an hour (30 minutes) and remove from the flame.

Now pour this mixture in a blender and run the blender until you get a smooth paste like mixture. Pour the soup into soup bowl and garnish with few drops of olive oil, salt n pepper.

One cup of this soup contains only 219 calories and it tastes delicious.

2. White Bean and Spinach Soup

This is one of my most favourite and creamy soup. This includes beans and when canned beans are combined and blended with veggies and spices, they give extra creamy texture and great taste with healthy benefits.

Ingredients:

  • Olive oil: 1 tsp.
  • Onion: ½ (chopped)
  • Celery: ½ (chopped)
  • Garlic: 1 clove (minced)
  • White beans: 1 whole can with liquid
  • Black pepper and thyme: ¼ tsp. each
  • Water: 1 cup
  • Chicken/vegetable broth: 1 cup
  • Fresh Spinach: 1 cup
  • Lemon juice: 1 tsp.

Directions:

In a large pot, heat olive oil on low-medium heat and add onion, minced garlic, celery, black pepper and thyme and sauté until everything is translucent.

Now add chicken/vegetable broth, water and beans, cover the pot with lid and let it simmer for 30 minutes.

Now remove one cup of the mixture from the pot and set aside, while you blend the remaining mixture in food processor in portions.

Now place this blended mixture in the pot along with 1 reserved cup and spinach and let it simmer for another 10 minutes. Serve hot and enjoy.

This contains 123 calories in one bowl.

3. Spicy Country Vegetable Soup

This soup includes plenty of vegetables either canned or fresh, it’s all up to you, because all the veggies are easily available in both.

This soup contains white and hot pepper for spicy nature because capsaicin in hot spices boost the metabolism and aids in weight loss. And when this is combined with veggies, they make super tasty and healthy meal.

Ingredients:

  • Chicken/vegetable broth: 6 cups
  • Tomatoes: 3 (medium, cut in cubes)
  • Canned tomatoes can also be used in place of fresh tomatoes. (1 ½ cans)
  • Carrots: 2 (medium, cut in thin slices)
  • Onion: 1 (medium, cut in thin slices)
  • Bell pepper: ½ (cut in thin slices)
  • Tomato paste: 1 can
  • Frozen Green beans: 1 package
  • Broccoli florets: 2 cups
  • Cauliflower florets: 2 cups
  • Corn: 1 can
  • White pepper, hot pepper and salt for taste

Directions:

In a large bowl, place all the ingredients, stir, and cover the pot for about 40-45 minutes. Keep stirring the mixture while cooking to prevent burning and keep the heat low-medium. Pour in soup bowl, sprinkle with a pinch of black pepper and enjoy.

These soups are healthy and pretty much fat-free with less calories and a lot of metabolism enhancing properties. I use coconut cream in some of the recipes because it makes the soup quite rich. Though cream adds up in calories and little fats but other ingredients low fat percentage compensate the creamy fats.

Another good reason for having these soups are, they are great in taste and if you want to boost the protein intake then you may boil a piece of chicken, shred it and add into the bowl. Whenever you are hungry just heat a cup or bowl of this soup and enjoy!
