Bulletproof Kevlar military helmet

The bullet and shatterproof kevlar helmet is a modern composite helmet.

The ergonomic shape, reliability and fail-safe design, coupled with its protective properties, have contributed to its widespread use. Currently the bullet and shrapnel resistant helmet is one of the ten most useful inventions.

Comfortable wearing is ensured by detachable cushions, which are secured by a Velcro system. The unique feature of the system is that the helmet can be individually adjusted to the shape of the head. The cushions themselves have a special patented impact-absorbing foam core inside. It takes very little time to fit and customise the cushions. Because they are attached to the side of the helmet with a Velcro system. The four-point headband system holds the helmet securely in place when the helmet is being run or jumped on.

What is Kevlar?

Firstly, it is worth understanding what Kevlar is and examining its properties and features. Kevlar is a special synthetic fibre which is created to replace steel. This material is widely used in production of armour waistcoats, protective helmets and car tyres. The material has high mechanical strength. It is available in different grades with a strength from 280 to 550 kg/mm2 and a density from 1400 to 1500 kg/m3. It can also be used in the manufacture of cables. Kevlar is then placed along its entire length. This prevents the cable itself from being severely stretched and torn. The Kevlar helmet is made using a special yarn.

Kevlar protective military helmet

The Kevlar helmet is designed to protect soldiers from bullets and grenade fragments. The helmet has a number of features:

  • The helmet is made of two components: the shell and the ribs, which fit tightly over the head.
  • The body of the helmet is protected by threads of Kevlar material.
  • The high performance of the helmet remains valid within the temperature range of -50 to +50 degrees.
  • It does not obstruct the view of the driver and does not interfere with the operation of vehicles.
  • The helmet enables military operations in a highly gassy environment.
  • It does not distort the sound.
  • The simplicity of design does not necessitate additional technical equipment and repairs.
  • The helmet is highly resistant to shrapnel, even in multiple hits.
  • It can be worn on all day long. Soldiers do not develop crusts or blisters.
  • It can be pulled on quickly when needed and taken off easily.
  • If the helmet is used in the winter, it can be fitted with a warm under-cap.
  • Such features help to keep soldiers alive and healthy.
